How to specify a custom marble sink

Start with two sets of dimensions

A stone sink needs both its overall external size and its usable internal bowl size. External length × width × height defines the object that must fit the room, vanity or wall. Internal bowl length × width × depth defines how the sink will function. Do not treat one set as a substitute for the other.

State the measurement unit clearly. MarbleSinkCo project briefs record dimensions in both centimetres and inches so the workshop, designer and local installer can compare the same information.

Map every opening from a fixed edge

For faucet holes, drain openings and wall plumbing, give the center point from a named reference edge. “Centered” can be ambiguous when the bowl, deck and overall slab have different centerlines. A plan view with left, right, front and rear edges labeled is the clearest format.

Faucet information

Define the edges, backsplash and finish

Specify the visible edge profile, preferred rim thickness and whether a backsplash is part of the stone piece. If a backsplash is required, state its height, thickness and any faucet-hole layout. Honed, polished, antiqued, fluted and split-face finishes change the visual character and maintenance of the piece, so name the finish rather than relying only on a reference image.

Match the sink to the installation

State whether the sink is wall-mounted, countertop, vessel, console-supported or fitted into furniture. Wall-mounted stone requires a verified structural load path; suitable models may be prepared with underside channels for concealed steel arms. Brackets are separate unless the written Etsy listing says otherwise.

Record inclusions and exclusions

Unless the current listing states otherwise, the price is for the natural-stone piece only. Faucets, drains, siphons, brackets, furniture, mirrors, lighting and styling accessories are not included.
